Other Scholarships and Awards recipients
In 2018, Patrick Crotty received the Boren scholarship. He will spend January-August 2018 in China learning Chinese. His future plan is to work for the US in establishing positive US-China trade policies.
In 2018, Olivetti Posy was awareded the Critical Languages Scholarship.
In 2014, Elizabeth Burdette was awarded the Bishop Robert Smith Award, the highest undergraduate award. She also recieved a Fulbright Scholarship to complete research in India. Learn more about her previous work done in India in her InGenius Event Lecutre from September 25, 2013.
Asian Studies had three students recieve the nationally competitive Critical Languages Scholarship provided by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.
In 2013, seven students were awarded the Confucius Institute Scholarships to study Intensive Chinese at Guizhou University in China for the 2013-2014 academic year.
In 2013, Madeline Edwards was awarded a scholarship to study Arabic in Jordan.
In 2013, Elizabeth Burdette studied Hindi in India.
In 2012, Daniel Hodge was awarded a scholarship to study Chinese in Shanghai.
In 2011, one student was awarded the prestigious Boren Scholarship.
