Study Abroad Programs

The Asian Studies program periodically offers study abroad experiences during the summer term which are led by our own College of Charleston faculty.  Additionally, students looking to study abroad for an entire semester or academic year can consider participating in a bi-lateral exhange program.

Extra-curricular Opportunities

  • The Asian Studies program has seen three students receive the nationally competitive Critical Languages Scholarship provided by the U.S. Department of State to study abroad in the home country of their language of choice.  Students traveled to China, Jordan and India.
  • Seven students received the Confucius Institute Scholarship in 2013; this covered virtually all their costs to study intensive Chinese at Guizhou University in Guiyang, China.
